To domain, or not to domain - that is the question...

For a while now, I've contemplated the idea of purchasing my own domain name. It'll be much easier to find my blog and tell people what it is rather than constantly adding on the .blogspot.com. I'm going to do some research this weekend into the best hosts and prices. Of course, if anyone has any recommendations or tips, they'll be gladly accepted :)

We have the internet!

Three weeks after moving into our new pad, Sky has finally switched on our internet. I'm back at the parent's till Tuesday and have an interview for an internship in London on Monday which I'm excited but very nervous for as I want it to go well! Now I have the internet, blogging will resume :)

Other Westfield happenings - I'm turning into my parents!

When I ventured to Westfield Stratford City last Saturday, not only was it my first time in Stratford by myself, but it was also my first time in London by myself. Five years ago, I wouldn't have even contemplated such a journey but I guess that's growing up! I got to London pretty early but spent quite a long time at Euston underground due to overcrowding.

At Republic, the shop was packed and cornered off with security guys with crowds outside taking photos. I'm not usually a nosey person but I thought while I was there I'd see what the fuss was about. Inside was two men dj-ing (and due to the screaming girls - they were good at it). I didn't know who they were and only got caught out on this when a couple stopped me and asked me whilst I shamelessly took photos! I honestly admitted to having no idea who they were and thankfully 5 minutes later a young girl informed us they were 'Rizzle Kicks'. Upon googling now, it's quite clear who they are and I have heard of their stuff.

Below are the videos I filmed of them. My dad enjoyed my lack of music knowledge as he said I'm slowly becoming 'out of touch' like my parents. Awesome, now where are you Itunes??!!

The Look Show Westfield Stratford City: Sarah Harding makes her catwalk debut

Here's another video that I filmed whilst at the Look Show Westfield Stratford City. This time you lucky things get to see the fabulous Sarah Harding make her debut catwalk and doesn't she look suave?! Her Miss Selfridge tuxedo look mixed smart formal with chanel egdy with the monochrome colour blocking. And with that fierey new hair colour, all eyes were defintiely on Miss H when she strutted her stuff down the matching white catwalk. Enjoy :) And if you want to read more about Sarah's debut, Look magazine has the ultimate down-low: http://www.look.co.uk/fashion/sarah-harding-rocks-the-runway-at-the-look-show

Stylist Fashion Show: Westfield Stratford City

As well as attending the amazing Look Show at Westfield Stratford City last Saturday (17th September), I also managed to go to the Stylist Magazine and John Lewis fashion show. Showcasing the John Lewis 2011 autumn/winter trends, the store opened it doors to three catwalk shows at 11am, 1pm and 4pm.

Surprisingly, I heard about this event through my mother (check her connections), as she'd read about in Stylist Magazine. Being back at university, I don't really have a chance to pick up a copy, whereas at home, my family work in Manchester so pick up a copy as soon as it comes out. I attended the 1pm catwalk and loved it. These were the best photos I could get, I was stood behind two older women (hence the perms popping up in each photo) but I couldn't exactly complain as it was a free event :)

The make-up and hair complimented the outfits perfectly. My favourite collection? Definitely the tweed, with its high waisted pencil skirts, nipped in waists, muted tones and ladylike finishes (think leather gloves and fancy up-dos). If I had to pick two favourite looks, it would be the black and white coat from the Mod collection (brunette model) teamed with raspberry tights to give it a colour block pop and the pussybow blouse and beige pencil skirt from the tweed collection. There were definite themes of English heritage and lady of the manor vibes coming through the event and being a big fan of formal dressing, I was and am ecstatic! The weather may be getting chilly but the fashion is sure hotting up!

The Look Show Westfield Stratford City: Dionne Bromfield performs!

Apologies for the video/sound quality, I only had my day-to-day Samsung camera on hand and spent most of her performance either enjoying it or taking photos (which you can see a few posts down!). It's only a quick snipped and if you want to view it full size, click on the video and it should take you to my Youtube page :)

Update: The Internet

Now, if you read my blog you'll have noticed that my post frequency has dropped quite significantly. On average, I like to post at least twice a day to keep my readers entertained.
However, from the beginning of September, I moved into my new house at university to start my third and final year (scary stuff right?!). To add to that craziness, we were told by Sky that a technician would be coming round on the 21st September to sort out our internet (we thought we could just carry on the same contract as we had last year as we’ve only moved next door, but apparently not!). The guy came and instead of sorting the internet, he just came to install a phone line as the guys who had our house last year didn’t have one (how they had the internet without a phone line, I’ll never know!). We then read on our Sky letter that it can be up to two weeks after your phone line is installed before your internet is activated. We wouldn’t mind but a/ we need the internet to do all of our work and b/ if we’d known it would have created this much chaos, we wouldn’t have stayed with Sky!

So basically, I can’t blog properly until the 30th September as that’s when it gets installed. I’m going back to my parent’s on that date anyway so any blog posts I can write (like outfit ones) will be posted again! I apologise for this inconvenience, I know how annoying it is when you follow/read a blog that suddenly stops updating, but I’m not doing it on purpose J

I’ve added the max internet bundle onto my contract phone so that I can update my Twitter etc. so if you want to follow me on there while I’m blog-less – feel free, my username is @staceyjmford.

I’ve made a music video about my time at the Look Show held at Westfield Stratford City last Saturday which sadly won’t get uploaded onto Youtube until next Friday also – my username for that is: staceproductionz.
