Pride of Britain Awards 2011: Hit or Miss

It's that time of the year again - where for one night we recognise the courage and braveness of our fellow Britons, the unsung heroes who finally get praised for their incredible acts. But it also means that it's time for our favourite celebs to grace the red carpet. But who's a miss and who hits the spot? Read my verdict below:

(L-R)

Cheryl Cole
Fresh from America having turned her hand to acting, Cheryl's pastel Victoria Beckham gown fits her petite figure perfectly, accentuating her tiny waist. The colour contrasts fantastically against her golden glow and sun-kissed highlights.

Carol Vorderman
This grey fitted dress showcases Carol's great figure but her hair is another story. Everytime I look it, I get 90's flashbacks which sometimes can be good but for me, the hair and outfit just clash.

Tulisa Contostavlos
While I have been completely won over by Tulisa's style since appearing on our Saturday night screens, this floral flock lets me down. The top half looks ill fitting and the puffball bottom wouldn't look out of place at a Grease prom.

Elle Macpherson
Stick a supermodel in a plastic bag and chances are, she'll look incredible. So you guess the outcome when you get a supermodel dressed in a halterneck gown. Life's unfair. With her tousled blonde hair and amazing figure, Elle earns my first five star of the night. I'm just hoping God will be as kind to me when I'm her age!

Holly Willoughby
This Morning's Holly goes for simple but chic in this LBD wrap. The sparkle encrusted lining and matching shoes add that extra bit of glam to the red carpet.

TOWIE's Sam and Jessica
Sam is barely recognisable both with her newly dyed locks and covered up attire. I like her attempt at sophistication but I think she's slightly too covered up for age - flaunt it while you can (but in a classy way of course!).
Jessica fairs a little better in my style stakes. Another LBD, but the flash of the shoulder is the sassy touch Sam's outfit was desperately crying out for. And that up-do is sensational.

Tess Daly
This zig zag dress is a complete showstopper. The bold colours demand attention while the gladiator styled heels toughen up the femininity of the frock.

The Saturday's Rochelle and Una
Rochelle is the epitome of elegance in this navy number. Love the bold cobalt accessories which transform this outfit from at the office to red-carpet ready.
Una shows us how to look amazing while pregnant. This black origami style strapless dress flaunts her neckline and legs thanks to her elegant up-do.

Holly Valance
This silk floral piece does nothing to enhance Miss Valance's fab figure therefore a one star is awarded. Such potential...

Abbey Clancy
It's bad enough that Abbey Clancy can like absolutely fabulous in pretty much anything she wears. But it's even worse when you take into consideration that she gave birth what seems like yesterday. This asymmetric LBD hugs Abbey's feminine curves while her smokey make-up keeps her looking youthful and fresh.

Coleen Rooney
Coleen dazzles in this embellished dress which is both feminine and fun with the sheer netted skirt.

Tara Palmer Tomkinson
How incredible does Tara look in this 60's reminiscent shift prom dress. The skater dress teamed with the metallic belt clinches in her waist and her hair do screams Audrey Hepburn. Fabulous darling!

Myleene Klass
You can always rely on Myleene to bring 'klass' to an event (sorry, I couldn't help myself!). This grey fishtail gown and tumbling curls are very Disney princess-esque and who hasn't at one point dreamt of being a Disney princess? Only me?! Okay then...

Christine Bleakley
Daybreak presenter Christine rocks a nude strapless with ease on the red-carpet. Thanks to her glowing tan and dark hair, it stops the shade from washing her out.

Melanie Chisholm
Ex-Spice Girl, Mel C, could do with a bit of spicing up in her wardrobe after seeing this dress. The shapeless cut drowns her petite figure while the wrap-around style should be left for the Helen Mirren's of the industry.

Kimberly Walsh
Kimberly scores full marks for me in this lace number. The cut shows off her hard exercise regime while her simple up-do lets the dress do the talking.

Emma Bunton

Baby spice rocks this patterned dress down to a tee. Floaty? check. Feminine? check. And red lipstick? - She's a girl after my own heart!

Amy Childs
TOWIE's Amy looks more suited to a Year 11 prom than a red-carpet event. Over-the-top make up and the dress which in all fairness - does fit her, looks a little trashy thanks to the tightness. Also, the fake tan is getting a bit boring now. Where did natural beauty go?

Nicola Roberts
Miss Roberts' has recently become as famous for her fashion as she has had for her music. But tonight, he usually quirky style had been replaced with a feminine pastel ball gown. Lady-like learnt!
