I've seen these rings all over the blogging community and yesterday I caved and brought one for myself whilst at the Manchester Bloggers meet. I'm not big on jewellery but I like building up quirky and eclectic pieces in my collection and this ring definitely falls into that category. I like the personality side of the ring by choosing the initial(s) you want and it's a fun way to change up an outfit. What do you think of these rings? Are you a fan of unique jewellery?
Group photos taken from Emma and Sarah so thank-you for uploading those!
Yesterday I went to my second blogger's meet up, this time closer to home in Manchester. As far as I'm aware, meet ups up North aren't as common as in London/down South so I'm jumped at the chance to attend this! I didn't know any of the bloggers previously which in some ways I think is a good thing as it puts you out of your comfort zone and you get to know the people behind the blogs, rather than sticking to just the people you know.
Organised by Sarah from Sequin This, the event began at 1pm where we met it in the city centre. I travelled down with Rebecca from Rebecca's Vintage Romance as, like me, she studies in Preston. We did a quick shop in the Arndale, before heading to Grinch wine bar for hot chocolates and a gossip. We then spent the majority of the afternoon trawling through the Manchester Christmas Markets, which as you can imagine were heaving due to its popularity. There's everything there from different cultured foods to eat, cheeses from around the world, Christmas jumpers, tree decorations, sweets, gifts and fashion. All of the food smelt yummy but I refrained from getting anything as we were booked into a restaurant in the evening so didn't want to spoil my appetite! I brought myself a scrabble ring from the Afflecks fair inside the town hall which I'm going to blog about later.
Before the meal, we went to a pub for a quick drink and more talk about all things blogging. It's nice to have people on the same wavelength who understand the problems you have and can give you advice and share their stories with you!
We wrapped up the night with pizza at the Croma restaurant. I've never been before but I'm definitely going to head back - the food was delicious and the service impeccable. The interior was modern, clean lines and very chic. Whilst at the meal, we took part in a Manchester quiz that Sarah had devised. There were three joint winners - myself, and. I guessed most of the answers so I was surprised I got nearly all of them right, but growing up near Manchester, I would have been embarrassed if I hadn't had known any! I won a Clippy Phone Home which I love and can't wait to use (I shall blog about this too!).
The event was sponsored by IL2L, Dainty Rose and Clippy who provided fab prizes for the day and I'm very looking forward to entering the IL2L compeitition to win a jacket from their collection which I'm coveting - I'll be posting my entry in the coming weeks.
Gold purse: H&M - £1.99, Black satchel: Primark - £3
It's no secret that I love a good bargain, and this week produced some crackers! The glitz and glam purse from H&M is a steal at £1.99 and is perfect for storing ID, notes and loose change when on a night out which is what I intend to use it for. I never take my full size purse out as it's massive and I'd have to constantly remove all of my cards every time! Plus the gold is festive and on trend for the party season - killing two birds and all that!
My second bargain is in the form of this cute little satchel bag from Primark. Another love of mine is satchels. In an ideal world, I'd invest in an Alexa from Mulberry but I'm on a student budget so my price range is significantly cut. I've lost count how many satchels I actually own and if it wasn't for it's amazing price, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. I thought it would be perfect for a night out when I'm not wearing as such a smart oufit and want my bag to reflect that. Or when on an off chance that I don't carry much round with me in the day. Nonetheless, for £3, it doesn't really matter what I use it for, it's an utter bargain! Primark seem to be running a whole £3 bag sale at the moment as when I was browsing, there was dozens of different styles, textures and colours of bags to choose from. Plus, it was only the other week that my mum returned from her shopping trip with a £3 Primark bag. You can't say no really, can you?
001. Today's been a work focused week as I have all of my deadlines coming up at once. I still have lots of work to do and not much time to do it. I'm planning on going home for Christmas on the 9th December so this week sets to be another repeat of the same!
002. I've finally settled on my fancy dress outfit for New Year's. The theme is animals, so I'm going to go as a peacock which I'm looking forward to as there's a lot of vivid colours I can play with when it comes to the costume and make-up. I'm going to have to order everything now as some of it may have to come from Hong Kong which will take two weeks plus for delivery!
003. Today I went to the Manchester Blogger's meet up which was uh-mazing! It was lovely to meet new faces and get to know the people behind the blogs. Plus, it's nice to spend time sharing stories and advice with people on the same wavelength. I'm going to post properly about it tomorrow so stay tuned for that!
004. From what I've read, Janet's finally gone off of The X Factor which as harsh as it sounds, I'm glad about as her recent performances weren't up to par. My favourite two are Amelia Lily and Little Mix but ultimately I want Amelia to win as I think she has an incredible talent similar to that of Christina Aguilera.
Polo neck: Primark, Leggings: H&M, Riding Boots: Next
It didn't take me long to road-test my new polo neck jumper from Primark. I wanted to feel Christmassy and this jumper to me epitomises Christmas and Winter. I love the deep red colour of it and it matches my trademark red lipstick so it's a winner in my eyes! Tomorrow I'm going to the Manchester Blogger's Meet Up, which I blogged about here. I'm excited to meet new faces and to explore the Christmas Market. I was hoping my dad was working tomorrow, as he works at Piccadilly station so I wanted to say hi, but I can't have everything and I'll be seeing him in two weeks when I go home for Christmas!
If you've been viewing my blog today, you may have noticed that at times, it has been a complete and utter design disaster. I opened a new blog on my Blogger account yesterday to design my new layout and had planned to simply copy and paste the code over onto this HTML, but as with life - things never go to plan! For some reason, my Blogger keeps coming up with error codes each time I try and edit my HTML which is highly frustrating as it's the second day it's been appearing, I've tried different web browsers and the code I'm trying to change/delete/add is nothing dodgy so I can't quite understand why it's having a fit about it! If it doesn't resolve itself by Monday, I think I'll email the Blogger support team to see if they have any suggestions!
My design is still unfinished. I hate the shadow around my blog, the space between my photos and the wide padding/margin around my blog posts. All of which I've spent tirelessly trawling Google's help forums today to try and rectify but unfortunately without the use of my 'Edit HTML' section, there's not much I can do for now. So I apologise for the un-tidiness of the blog, hopefully it will be sorted sooner rather than later(If anyone has any help or tips on how to fix my problems mentioned, then please get in touch!)
While like most girls, I have a hoard of clothes - when it comes to Winter clothes, I tend to fail in that department. I'm not a fan of hoodies or tight polo necks as I feel claustrophobic in them, so when I spotted these pair on my way back from university yesterday I was pleasantly surprised. I love the colours of them, the material is lovely (and more importantly not itchy!), plus they had a £1 off, so I got them both for under £15. Plus, they're not overpowering in the sense you could still look chic when wearing them, whilst staying warm at the same time. Bonus!
