Glossybox & Motel Rocks Bloggers Evening

I've only been running my blog since May of this year so when the opportunity arose for me to attend Motel Rocks bloggers evening with GlossyBox I jumped at the chance! Well not literally, I instead hopped on a Virgin pendolino down to Euston. This was my first event where I felt excited and relaxed to attend as luckily I knew some of the bloggers going after meeting them previously at the TOWIB event.

After meeting Lucy and Charlotte, we walked down to the venue together to save the walking in alone embarrassment. We were the first bloggers to arrive, so although we didn't arrive "fashionably late", we got first dibs on browsing Motel's glamorous rails! From the minute I walked through the door, I could tell a lot of effort and attention to detail had been put into the organisation into this event so congratulations to Selina at Motel.

They say a photo's worth a thousand words but I'll describe the event to you lovelies anyway ;) Think girly, and think glamorous, and you're close to the ambience of the night. We were given an array of drinks to sip on including cocktails and wine, which I would have taken advantage of if I hadn't had to travel over three hours back home! Our tastebuds were treated to the yummiest vanilla candyfloss (which was on constant tap thankfully!), popcorn and sweets by Haribo and Swizzels (which are made in the town next door to where I'm from - so it was a proud little moment seeing the sweets I grew up with on display!). Oh, and did I mention the FAB and chic cupcakes made by Glossybox?!

Manicures were also on offer with the funkiest designs in town from your everyday spots to a more outgoing eye pupil! I did put my name down but demand was so high that I didn't get chance to have my nails done but the lucky ones who did looked fantastic!

Not only did we get a preview of the collection, we were also incredibly lucky to be able to choose any piece to keep - amazing huh? After much deliberation (all of the clothes were gorge!), I settled on a long sleeve wine coloured dress with gold embellishment on the shoulders and sleeves (see my last photo for a look). I cannot wait to show it off this party season and I shall be quick to blog about it when I get my hands on it! My inspiration for selecting this particular piece was Blake Lively. A few years back she wore a similar shade dress on her interview on the David Letterman show (see photo), so I had to get my hands on something similar.
Overall the event was great for bringing bloggers together and getting to discuss our favourite topic of fashion was hardly a chore! it definitely made me see a new side to Motel as I don't always get a chance to see their stock in store, so now I have, I'm definitely going to be keeping my eye on their collection in the run up to the party season! Their prices are reasonable and with pieces coming in every pattern and colour imaginable, it's pretty hard to say no!
