Leather Love - MY IL2L Competition Entry

Leather jackets are a fashion investment. You may spend a hundred or two, but it'll last you for years and it's a timeless piece that not only has stood the test of time but can instantly transform an outfit. When I think of a leather jacket, I think fierce, sexy, sassy and rock chic. When I picture a celebrity right now who epitomises leather at it's best - it's Taylor Momsem. Whether it's day or night, Taylor rocks the leather through her confidence and sensational style. Transitioning Taylor from sweet Gossip Girl Jenny Humphrey from Brookyln  to lead singer of rock band The Pretty Reckless, the leather jacket has shaped Taylor as a fashion icon and young woman.

But that's not where my attachment to leather jackets began. Growing up my dad always wore them. He'd spend a fair few pounds on them, but do you know what? He still has them now! And unlike your parent's fashion blunders which lets face it, happened quite a lot when you were young, I was never embarrassed by my dad's leather jacket as they NEVER do go out of fashion!

Which is why when I found out that the lovely IL2L were sponsoring the Manchester Bloggers Meet Up and offering the amazing chance to win one of their fab jackets, I headed straight for the leather. The good news? There's a price tag to suit every budget - whether you're looking to spend or splurge. The bad news? There's that many gorgeous designs that like me, you'll struggle to pick a favourite. I even shouted my mum over to help me decide, which is a twist of the table as I'm usually the one giving her my fashion verdict.

I finally decided on the IL2L Women's Asymmetric Leather Biker Jacket. It's edgy, yet classic looking. It looks 'tough' but the soft leather would feel great. And with multiple ways to wear it, it's versatile and will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe, which with being a student is something that is essential in cutting back costs and re-vamping old clothes.

Below is how I'd style my leather jacket, both for the day and night:

Obviously I'd love to win, not only because of how gorge the jacket is but I'd like to give my dad a run for his money, well leather, in the style stakes! But good luck to the rest of the girls who all deserve to win and a big thank you to Sarah for organising the day and of course thanks to IL2L for sponsoring the event and running such a fab competition.
