Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Next A/W 12 Press Day, held at the stunning Somerset House in London. I'd never been before and it couldn't have been a nicer day to go for the first time. Beware - this is a picture heavy post - I've separated my posts into Womenswear and Shoes/Accessories/Homewear because of this!
While the weather was hot, it seemed a little strange looking at jumpers and winter coats, but Next's A/W collection was so chic and well put together that I soon forgot the roasting heat outside and started drumming up my A/W wishlist in my head.
Feminine textures were present, from faux leather to lace and sequins to wool. Dark navys, blacks and grey are softened up with hints of cream and lilac.
I in particular loved these two Winter coats - check out the collar on them! They have me wanting Winter to hurry up, and that's something I never thought I'd say. They'd definitely keep you cosy whilst trudging the snow or kicking through Autumn leaves.
Patterns were also at play with tartan and checks in reds, navys and beige which emulate the British heritage. Skinny belts clinch in at the waist to give a feminine silhouette.
Fox designs made their way on gloves and hats which give a youthful and funky feel to accessories.
Collars, leopard print and sheers are still a staple for A/W and colours range from rich blues and reds to soft pastels meaning there's a shade for everyone.
Bright colours popped against the shades you'd normally class for Winter.
I love this faux leather jacket, a classic style and shape which would instantly transform a Winter knit to a rock chick look.
Deep raspberrys and lady-like pieces enhanced the feminine figure in shifts and bodycon lace dresses.
A simple cream jumper is always a Winter staple, whilst this check shift dress would be perfect for a walk in the park, afternoon shopping or drinks with the girls.
And finally, my favourite piece of the collection was this poncho. I LOVE the collar and can just imagine snuggling up in this when the colder months arrive. While I'm definitely a S/S girl, Next's A/W 12 collection has most certainly got me excited for Winter!
