After using this shampoo and conditioner for over five years, I felt it was appropriate to review, after-all, I've given it a fair test drive right? Dove recently re-branded the original shampoo and conditioners I used to use and these white ones were the ones I believed to be the re-vamped version. This new design I prefer as they look sleek and clean. You get 250ml of shampoo and 200ml of conditioner. So let's start with what the shampoo and conditioner claim to do:
- Micro Moisture Serum: to help repair hair surface to lock in the colour without weighing it down
- Fibre Actives: known to penetrate deep inside the hair reconstructing it from within
Leaves hair with vibrant colour that lasts.
It does what it says on the tin. There's a reason I've been using this shampoo for so long. At first I was apprehensive at using a cream shampoo every other day as they can be known to provide a build up on your hair and coat it with a silicone-like texture. Sometimes my hair does get build up, but I combat this by using a clear shampoo to cleanse it out (usually with this). With Dove, my coloured hair is maintained (sometimes I can go nearly a year without re-colouring) and leaves it soft and lightweight. I hate having weighed down hair and since I don't have thick hair to begin with, I know if my shampoo is working if it keeps it lightweight. The shampoo and conditioner itself are creamy, thick and has a light perfume to it, which I like when using.
Would I buy it again?
Easily put, yes. I already have a stock in my cupboard because of how much I like it. They tend to retail at around the £2.50 mark but offers are usually on at supermarkets or Boots/Superdrug. Compared to more expensive shampoos and conditioners where you could pay £8/£10 for two, I think these are definitely worth the money and won't break your bank balance.
