Review: Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick

Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Stick: (Full Size) £19.00*

I received this product in my June Glossybox and as I said then, I was sceptical at first about whether I'd actually like it. This was mainly to the packaging as we got the starter kit, but upon reflection, I'm so glad they sent us this - because at the end of the day, they can't guess what everyone's ideal make-up shade match is and some days you prefer a warmer shade than others so you can easily mix and match. So, just to reiterate, if you buy the full size Foundation Cream Stick, it will not look like this, it will come packaged like a concealer stick. You can still buy this starter kit if you want to test the product and the shades for only £4.50 (current sale price £3.80) from here.  I think it's a great way to really find your best shade match as it's all well and good testing in a high street store under artificial lighting, but it's not always a true reflection of whether it suits you, and using this you can test it over a length of time before deciding and purchasing the full size.

I've been using three shades, Opal (#12), Light (#13) and Nude (#14). The Nude shade I use sparingly as it's darker than my skin, but I do like the glow it gives me. Whereas I can use the other two shades all over without looking too dark. The product claims to camouflage minor to severe skin flaws and also contains SPF 30. It also is fragrance free, hypo-allergenic and resistant to water and perspiration. Whilst I don't have severe skin flaws, I can't recommend this product for coverage enough. A little goes a long way and considering I've been using this product non-stop since receiving it, it's done well to last! Like it suggests on the packaging, the best way to apply it is aim it like a dart (as silly as it sounds) and pat it on with the tip of your brush.

It conceals my skin perfectly without looking cakey and as well as being long lasting, it also feels weightless on my skin. Being fragrance free is a big plus for me, as well as having SPF in it, as not only do I want to protect my skin from the sun, but I've had reactions to products before so I'm happy about that. I definitely want to repurchase this product, however the only thing putting me off is the price. It retails at £19.00 for 12g which is quite pricey for me when my foundation is £19.50 a bottle. I think there's a website currently selling it for £16.50 which I may buy off as I'm not sure I want to spend the same amount on a stick product that I would on a full size foundation.

Have you tried this or any other Vichy products before? What do you think of them?
