Review: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil*
I've never really tried oils before, whether on my face or hair, so I was intrigued when I got this in my August Glossybox. Before I'd even tried the product, I saw there was a lot of hype and interest in this particular product so I did have my hopes up.

DHC isn't a brand I'm particularly familiar with so I had no preconceptions of the brand. It's a Japanese brand and the oil is meant to "dissolve make-up, dirt and other impurities."

Sadly, I wasn't blown away by this product. I don't think the hype around the oil and myself really wanting to like it helped my decision. While it did remove some of my make-up, it struggled removing my eyeliner which I eventually had to get a make-up wipe for. It also left my skin feeling greasy and as if there was product still on it, when I had rinsed thoroughly. I may still use this every now and then for when I'm on the go or somewhere where I can't carry as many products with me as the size is handy, but unfortunately this product wasn't for me.

What do you think of oil make-up removers?

  1. I wasn't impressed by this majorly either, although as I put in my review of it, it was quite nice to use as a 'pre-cleanser' to get off the majority of my make-up before my normal cleanser! x
