What I Wore: Ombre Away!

blog1 blog2 blog5 blog3
Jacket: H&M, Jumper: Primark, Skirt: Primark
WHAT I WORE

Ombre hair is a hot amongst the 'blogosphere' - if that's what it's called. Whilst I love it on other people, I've never really been brave enough to try it myself - I've had the same hair and style for as long as I can remember. I spotted this Ombre jumper whilst in Primark last week. It was available in three colours so naturally I picked up two. I was going to keep one and take the other back but when I saw they were only £3 each in the sale, I thought why not keep both! The other one is an orange which fades into a hot pink at the bottom,  but I like this one just as much as I love blue and it's a colour that really pops.

I think Primark is really hot on trends at the moment and is producing some really good stuff. There's been quite a few items from there that bloggers have gone crazy over - the Minnie Mouse Onesie, the studded clutch, the Fox slippers and the black bucket bag to name a few.

Have you picked up any Primark bargains recently?

Travel: Australia 2012

A little overdue, but I thought I'd post about my holiday to Australia. I finally uploaded my video (above - if you do watch, please watch in HD as it looks rubbish otherwise!)We visited Singapore, Sydney, the Gold Coast, Bondi, Melbourne, Manly and the Blue Mountains. Looking back at the photos now, it feels like a dream that never actually happened. We hope to go back soon, I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

Review: Nails Inc in Notting Hill Gate

IMG_7433 IMG_7436 blog9
Nails Inc in Notting Hill Gate*
PRODUCT

When I first received this in my November Glossybox, I was a little apprehensive. I'm always harping on about how I'm not a girly girl in the sense that I don't like pink, but I thought I'd try it anyway as I'm always hearing great things about Nails Inc

The colour, Notting Hill Gate, is a very bright, almost fluorescent pink shade and the consistency is about mid way between a thick and thin polish. Brands such as OPI, in my opinion, have a thicker consistency so when I was using Notting Hill Gate, I applied 2-3 coats to get to a look I was happy with. Drying time wasn't too long, I've had quicker and I've definitely had longer to wait so this was probably in the middle of the two, but this is to be expected when you're applying quite a few coats.

My application seemed to chip quite quickly unfortunately, which I'm not sure whether this was down to not putting on a top coat, but it meant I only had about 1-2 days of wear from it before it started to look messy.

Overall the shade did win me over as it's a nice colour pop to your outfit, however it probably requires more maintenance in touch ups than I'm willing to do. But if you're someone who changes their nails frequently than this nail polish is definitely one to consider!

What I Wore: Every Tear's A Waterfall

blog3 blog4 blog5 blog2 blog1 blog6
Jacket: H&M, Crop Top: Boohoo, Waterfall Skirt: H&M, Boots: New Look
WHAT I WORE

I've done it - I've named my outfit post after song lyrics. I've nothing against doing it, I'm just not very creative, but when you run out of ways to describe your 'black outfit', something's gotta' give! Sometimes a song can describe your mood more than any other medium, which is why I love music and I think you can learn a lot about someone from what they're listening to - give me a complicated lyric any day over a good beat!

Anyway...this is a very black outfit, bar the red lipstick of course. I've seen the high skirt, roll neck crop top combo quite a lot and it is a look that I'll be re-wearing a lot this season, so I'm looking to stock up in every coloured crop top going! The dip hem/waterfall skirt was massive this Spring/Summer and I still love mine as it gives me the best of both worlds. I get the maxi length at the back but am not swamped by the material at the front where it rises up.

Are you going to be re-working any of your Spring/Summer clothes this season?

Review: Next New York Eau De Parfum

IMG_6793 IMG_6794 IMG_6796 IMG_6801 IMG_6802
PRODUCT

If first impressions are anything to go by than Next's new beauty range ticks all of the boxes, after all, I love a good bow! Categorized by city, each range falls under either New York, London, Milan or Paris. The New York  Eau De Parfum is described as: "a radiant, white floral fragrance with elegant jasmine and sunkissed orange blossom."

What I like about this fragrance is that it has a strong enough to scent to last all day without being over powering. It has a fresh and floral fragrance which is light and feminine. It's a really good day scent and something I can imagine working for the Spring months too.

I like how Next use the collections to categorize their ranges. I may be a little biased as I love New York but I've also used the London fragrance too, which was just as good.

Have you ever tried Next fragrances? What did you think?

What I Wore: Spike Up Your Life

Blazer: F&F, Shirt: Primark, Trousers: H&M, Heels: Nelly*, Lipstick: Rimmel, Nails: Nails Inc Notting Hill Gate*
WHAT I WORE

How FIERCE are my new Nelly heels?! They're not my usual style but that's also why I love them! They definitely add an edge to any outfit and I find them really comfortable to walk in, which is also a bonus. Studs and spikes have been massive this season so they're fabulously on trend and are perfect for the upcoming party season!

I kept the rest of the look low key in an oversized shirt, blazer and plain trousers, adding a few more subtle accents with my Nails Inc Notting Hill Gate and my Rimmel lippy. I'm not a girly girl who loves pink but I don't mind accessorising with the colour!

Event: Boohoo #KnitB4Xmas

Last Thursday was Boohoo's #KnitB4Xmas event held at the hot (well, cold!) spot that is the Ice Bar in London. It was a perfect start to this year's Christmas countdown. Think Winter onesies, cheesy Christmas knits, mine pies, presents, trees, carol singers and more!  The guest list even included the one and only Santa, with some adorable husky dogs in attendance too!
