Review: Topshop Nail Varnish Remover

Nail Varnish Remover - Topshop: £2
PRODUCT

This was one of those purchases you pick up when waiting at the checkout. AKA completely dangerous, however since it was only £2, I doubt I'll go bankrupt tomorrow. Over the past half a year, I've become more adventurous with my nails so I'm always on the lookout for smaller size products that I can carry around in my handbag.

I remember all of the hype around the Bourjois nail varnish remover and although I never tried it myself, I thought this might be a cheaper substitute. As you can see, inside are little pads that you use to remove your nail polish. You get 20 wipes for £2 which I thought was quite good value for money.

When it came to removing my nail varnish however, I did struggle. I'm not sure whether it was because my nail polish was a week old or maybe because I had two different types and various coats on but it took a lot of effort to remove it all. The pads disintegrated quite easily and I struggled to get more than one nail's worth from each pad meaning that this only lasted me two nail switches. I also found the liquid to be quite greasy which I didn't like.

I loved the idea of this as it's so handy and easy to carry around, however it hasn't won me over my usual polish remover unfortunately!

Do you guys recommend any portable (small) nail varnish removers?

  1. I found the portable nail varnish remover I used to be the same - greasy and hard to use - but it's good for on-the-go touch ups.
