Q & A 5 Year Journal - Potter Style: Amazon

First off apologies for the number of photos in this post but I just had to show off the quaint-ness of this journal. I've seen similar journals to this pop up all over the internet and blogs over these past few weeks - this in fact is a delayed Christmas present after it completely sold out before the big day. I've never really been into journals as I don't like pouring my heart out into a book and where frankly anyone could pick it up and read it. However, this is the closest version I'll get to writing my thoughts down on a daily basis.

Design wise it's really pretty and rustic looking, from the brown hardback to the gold paper it's a pleasure to use. There's 365 different questions for the year and then for the next five years you re-use the same questions and see how your answers change over time. I think this is a really interesting exercise - to look back year after year and see how your priorities have altered, how something that once seemed like a big deal no longer matters and how you ultimately have changed as a person. From what I've answered (and flicked through) so far, the questions really are varied, from the more in-depth to the random little snippets of questions that don't require much thought. For instance, 'Can someone really change' compared to 'What was the last meal you had?.' I really like this contrast as you don't want thought-provoking questions every day of the year, you want questions that will everyday surprise you, sometimes making you think but other times making you smile when you reminisce or write down a happy thought.

I'll definitely be filling mine in everyday and just wish that I'd discovered this little gem sooner as I would have definitely have bought a few more copies for friends and family as Christmas presents!

Have you invested in a 2013 journal this year?
