Ways To Wear | The Check Shirt

Smarten up the casual nature of the shirt with a leather look skirt and a classic blazer. Add a heel and a clutch to transform the look from day to night.
Opt for a clean but cool silhouette in a shirt and trousers combination. A flat ballet pump will carry on the comfort but a heel will lengthen your legs in those leggings.
Work the Western look into your wardrobe in this ensemble. The shirt teamed with a high waisted short and cowboy boot will tie the theme together perfectly.
Channel your inner schoolgirl in a shift dress with the shirt layered under. A peeptoe slingback shoe will add some attitude to the outfit.

Review: KitSound Audio Earmuff Headphones

Ilove my music - I rarely leave my house without my IPod, when I do it's like I'm missing my left leg. Whilst my standard earphones do the trick, come colder climates, my ears are left out in the, well, cold. Luckily Mobile Fun have a range of headphones that can not only play you your favourite tracks but also keep you warm and stylish. Gone are the days when earmuffs were only for children displaying cute animals and wacky colours, they're super versatile and super chic. I of course went for black because black goes with everything and it's timeless.

The headphones come with a 3.5mm jack which means you can hook up any compatible device with ease.
There's a handy volume wheel remote attached to the wire which saves you fiddling about on the actually earmuff. The sound is lovely and clear considering how much padding and comfort you get with the headphones and at under £20, they're a steal. Mine have a lovely faux fur lining on the inside and a knitted pattern on the outside (hopefully you can see this in my photos!). They're a great fit, not so much when I have a big topknot in but that's my own fault for wearing massive hair! If you prefer a more unique design - they have plenty of these too. Delivery starts at £2.99 which aims to get you your parcel by the next day - so make the most of the cold snap we're having and treat your ears to some cosy headphones!

Pop of Paisley

Jacket: H&M, Shirt: boohoo, Skirt: boohoo, Bag: Zara
Aside from my standard red lipstick, this Rimmel hot pink one is a close favourite. I think it sits well against my pale skintone and is probably as close to wearing pink as I'll get! I picked up this patterned blouse at work - I seem to have become obsessed with blouses and shirts as of late - speaking of which - what is the difference between a blouse and shirt?! I'd say a shirt is more structured and a blouse more 'flowy' - that's probably definitely not a word, but is the best one I can think of to describe what I'm trying to say! My Zara bag has become my go-to handbag for the last couple of months. I have just ordered the much coveted Zara Office City Bag and am due to go and pick it up from store today. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it isn't as heavy as it looks and is quite a substantial size, as I don't really do small bags - the bigger the better I say!

Ways to Wear | The Mac

Go for the classic combo of a mac, striped tee and skinny jean for effortless elegance. Add a red lip, black peeptoes and a Bridget Bardot beehive for chic at its best.
Go prim and proper in a playsuit. Colour blocking is timeless and the monochrome trend will see you through all seasons. Opt for an oversized handbag to carry around all of your day-to-day essentials.
Twist up your textures in this ensemble. Tweed, fringing and lace are added to the mix whilst the pleat silhouette of the skirt will nip you in nicely at the waist.
Spice up your LBD in this lace lovely. The delicate dress juxtaposed against the structured mac will look great. Finish with a classic clutch to tie the look together.

Shades of Grey

Sunglasses: H&M, Jacket: H&M, Dress: boohoo
I'm a bit of a contradiction. I harp on about wanting to inject some colour into my wardrobe and then buy a grey dress, but at least it's not black right?! I'm quite a fan of grey as I think it sits well with blue eyes but it's also really wearable as it goes hand in hand with black and white. I wore my new dress over the warm weekend - hence the sunglasses. I say 'warm' but really it was only a couple of degrees warmer but the sunshine always makes you believe it's nicer than what it actually is.

I really hope we do have a warm Summer this year. It seems we usually get the worst of both worlds, in that we get a shoddy Winter and a shoddy Summer. Compared to some countries, our Winter is quite mild, but in some ways I'd rather have an extreme Winter if it meant we had a fantastic Summer which didn't require thousands of Brits to fly to hotter climates. Saying that though, our country just wouldn't be able to cope in extreme weather conditions as we close schools and transport as soon as snow hits. So fingers crossed for Spring - I hope you don't disappoint!

Running In Circles

Blazer: F&F, Dress: New Look
I'm in two minds about this dress. I've own it for a while now - I think even before I went to university but since then my style has changed slightly. I've become used to high neck tops and dresses so having my top half on show is a little strange. But because it was a gorgeous sunny day, I whacked a dress on - bare legs not quite yet as temperatures are still chilly. Spring is just around the corner, nights are getting lighter and it's just over a month until the clocks change (finally) - and I'm really excited to start adding some Spring pieces into my wardrobe. I've noticed that I wear a lot of black which is half intentional, half not. I like to have my staples in black as it's a classic colour and it goes with everything but I want to try and embrace colour this season. My favourite colours are purples, blues, reds and corals.

Ways to Wear | The LBD

With Spring on the horizon, it's time to embrace feminine florals into your fashion. This subtle take on the trend and tassel block heel provides effortless ladylike chic.

We may be too cool for school but the classic shapes of the uniform can be translated into an ideal office outfit. Shake it up with these sky high heels which would have definitely landed you in detention.

Camo is the casual way to rock an LBD. Add a classic blach hat and a chunky cut out heel for daytime dressed down meets going out glam.

Tie in the two-tone trend with a matching jacket and heel. The contrasting colours compliment each other whilst adding another dimension to your outfit.

Boucle Jacket

outfit IMG_9340 IMG_9343
Jacket: Primark, Dress: New Look, Boots: New Look
I tweeted this week about a very successful and bargain-ous Primark trip in which I got seven items for £7. This jacket was one of them. I've seen it in store since it made its début back at the start of AW12 and on many a fashion blog. Its original retail price was £25 but I didn't think the quality justified the price. I know a lot of people are commenting on the rise of Primark prices these days, but if people are continuing to spend, they're unlikely to lower them if it's working! The jacket was reduced to £10 a few months ago but I still wasn't sold, however when it went down to just £1, I thought why not. I actually bought two because £2 is far better than £50 right?!

Part of me is tempted to start doing Primark hauls with all of my bargains as they're one of my favourite YouTube videos to watch - and I always like sharing when I get bargain. However I'm not comfortable at all with being on video - I'm usually the one doing the filming rather than being the subject. Maybe if I could get around having my physical face on show...

I've had a very 'blah' weekend, I'm trying not to wallow too much and be positive but I've become a bit stuck in a routine. Whilst part of me loves the security of my day-to-day life, I feel like I need to do more with my life and live it rather than thinking 'Oh I'll do this at some point...' It's an over-used saying but 'Life's too short' - we need to make the most of the moments we have with the ones we love and recognise the great times when they're happening, and not just afterwards when they are then memories. Sometimes you read dozens of inspiring quotes, but rather than just reading them, it's time to act!
