April Showers

face OUTFIT
This month's showers really does exaggerate the saying 'April Showers' as it seems to have done nothing but rain. The rest of the country seems to have enjoyed more pleasant weather and I've seen some lovely photos of Australia basking in the sunshine - yet they're in Autumn and we're in Spring - go figure.

Whilst it's still not time for bare legs and no coats, whatever the weather you can wear a pretty dress. And this dress from Zalando is no exception.
I was drawn to this one because of its oversized collar and contrast colours. Plus I really like Vero Moda's simplistic but classic designs and although it's a slightly longer length than what I would normally go for, it's wearable all year round.

Hats Off

face OUTFIT
I'm not the biggest hat wearer in the world but I got this hat a few years ago for the bargainous price of £2. The only downside is that the hat's pretty big for my head so it's really hard to wear out for too long as chances are the wind will come and my £2 hat will fly away.

I never normally post on a Saturday, but as this was meant to go live on Thursday, I thought I'd post it today. I've not been too well these past few days but I'm feeling much more like myself today. I'm rarely ill so it always shakes me a little when I am. Plus I hate taking tablets and all of that.

This outfit essentially sums up my style - monochrome, stripes, a biker jacket, peplum and PU. Maybe when the weather warms up, I'll switch to wearing more colour but hey, it's England - we get what we get.

Ways to Wear | The Black Dungaree

Looking for a way of incorporating neon into your look without being too bold? Then team your black dungarees with a colour pop crop top. A print jacket adds another dimension whilst the matching clutch ties the outfit together.

Veer towards Varsity this season for the campus way to rock the dungaree trend. A bomber jacket teamed with an ankle stap heel combines casual with ladylike chic.

Casual dungarees and masculine tailoring doesn't mean you can't look feminine. Throw on a feminine floral blazer and cute crop top for girly girl meets casual cool.

Build up a basic look with your dungarees. Team the pair with a boxy white tee and slouchy beanie, but finish off the look with a killer heel for off duty chic.

Review: Balance Me Radiance Face Mask

Face masks are always a product I get excited about reviewing as the more nourishment and care I can give to my skin, the better. With 98% natural origins, it lured me in. The scent immediately hit me - a sun tan lotion/moisturiser scent, which could be off putting to some but I don't mind it as it isn't unpleasant. I left the mask on for around five minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. I've tried a lot of face masks which do a good job of cleaning my skin but this one went that extra mile. My skin becomes instantly smooth and soft after which is something I'm always hoping to attain. It cleans my skin and makes it feel in a much better condition, even after the first use. I've tried some face masks that clean you're skin to the point of it feeling as if it has been stripped but this mask is cleansing whilst moisturisng at the same time.

Grey Days

OUTFIT
I'm getting major weather whiplash at the moment. We're treated to a few lovely afternoons or lovely days and then we're right back to cloudy skies and grey days. Because of this, working your wardrobe to cater for such changes can be hard. Technically we should all be donning our summer dresses and dare I say it, getting our bare legs out. Sadly, it's not quite that warm yet so I'm sticking to my 40 denier tights and long sleeve shirts.

I got this new addition in the Topshop sale that's just started. Out of all the high street stores, the Topshop sale is definitely one of my favourites. I think it's because the sale savings are generally really good and there's always a good variety of pieces on offer. The downside to this however is that the best bits tend to go ASAP so you always have to get in there quick.
I did however attempt to de-layer by wearing these H&M shorts and ditching the winter coat for a more spring appropriate Mac. I did a recent post on Macs here - they're definitely the perfect transitional coat from winter to spring and it's a classic piece that never really goes out of fashion. In an ideal world, I'd bag myself a Burberry one but sadly I can't justify parting with that amount of money for a coat but a girl can have something to wish for right?

Zara Office City Bag

Ithink it's safe to say that the Zara Office City bag is a popular blogger bag. For months and months I've seen the classic black bag appear all over my blog feed with not one blogger having a bad word to say about it. So a few months ago I joined the hype in purchasing the Office City Bag.

Before receiving the bag I was a little concerned about the weight of the bag due to the several compartments - as I've got bags that I can no longer use as the actual weight of the bag means I put a few things in and it's too heavy to be lugging around with me all day. I'm happy to report that this hasn't been the case with the Zara Office City bag, despite all of the compartments inside.

As you can see from the photos, the bag houses several different sections to store your things and I was pleasantly surprised at how much thought had gone into each of these sections. It comes with three big zipped compartments at each end of the bag and one in the middle. The zipped compartments are all of equal space, however the middle compartment is padded to protect anything you wish to store in there - most likely IPads, Tablets and my laptop actually fits in here which allows the bag to double up as a laptop carrier too. Between the zipped compartments are two open compartments which fasten at the top with a magnetic clasp. One of them houses yet another padded zipped area which would be ideal for storing smaller devices such as phones, cameras and IPods.
The other open compartment is similar to that of a mini organiser - with a phone holder, little zipped area and business card slots.

So basically, if you're one of those people who believes in the motto "There's a place for everything and everything has its place" then this bag is ideal. I'm definitely one of those people - I like everything to be neatly arranged so this bag is perfect for arranging my day-to-day mess!

The colour and shape of the bag are also aspects I really like. I always tend to buy bags in black as they go with everything and the shape isn't too trend led so should look great as a staple bag all year round. The bag also comes with two handles allowing you to carry it on your arm or across your shoulder using the longer strap.

For the price of the bag, I think it's definitely value for money and I can see why so many people like it. It's classic, it's chic and it can easily fit in all of the necessary day-to-day objects.

Ways to Wear | The Chiffon Shirt

Whilst the temperatures are turning warmer, make your shirt wearable for all weather scenarios by teaming the shirt with a skinny black jean and a light knit. If it's even chillier, throw on a biker for extra layers!

Leather may not go hand in hand with Spring Summer, but incorporating the look into your outfit will add a tough edge to the feminine fabric of the shirt.

Keep it clean and chic by teaming your sky blue blouse with some sharp white shorts. Add a cute ballet flat with a bow detail to keep the look casual.

Take the look from day to night with a few style switch ups. A lace edge short adds a little femininity without being too in yourself, whilst the laser cut heels are bang on trend this season. And top off the look with a black blazer - because sometimes only classic cuts will do.

Jog On

LOOKBOOK
I rarely wear trousers. I've nothing against them but finding the right pair can be tricky whereas I find skater skirts and dresses to be much more reliable. I stocked up on my basics by buying this off the shoulder top. I used to love this style of top when I was growing up so it's a kind of childhood throwback. My nanna didn't seem to understand the style as she questioned "why I was stripping off?" - not quite the reaction I was looking for... Hopefully I'll get more use out of this trend when the weather gets warmer.

It saddens me that we're weeks into Spring now and the weather still isn't being very Spring like. At least it's not snowing I suppose, we've had enough of that for now!
This outfit probably isn't very Spring appropriate so I'm going to try and incorporate more colours into my wardrobe and every day style. It's hard sometimes as when it's grey and miserable outside, I find that I'm not in the mood to wear a bright dress and black and white are always easier to throw together in a rush!

Glossybox | April

The first thing that struck me about this month's Glossybox was the design. I know that it's what's inside that matters but a pretty design every once in a while doesn't go a miss! This month's box is a collaboration between Glossybox and Pearl Lowe and is designed to feature Spring appropriate products (aptly named 'Spring Fever'). Whilst the weather outside hardly mirrors this, it's nice to welcome in the new season in the beauty department. This month sees a nice mix of products including hair, face, body and nails. I suppose you could see it as a Spring makeover/pamper which is something I definitely need after what seems like the longest Winter ever. Cold temperatures, dark nights and wet and windy weather (with the occasional snow thrown in) have taken their toll on my skin so I'm looking forward to trying this month's products to hopefully solve a few of my beauty problems!

Glossybox April*

Richard Ward Couture Hair
Optimiser Style Reviver
Designed to create volume and shine whilst decreasing frizz, it seems like an all-rounder product. I have quite fine hair so volume is always something I'm after (unless I go for a sleek straight look) so I'll be interested to see how much hold this product has.

Yves Rocher France
Nutrive Vegetal - 24H Comfort Nourishing Cream
This nourishing cream has an array of ingredients from Shea Butter to Ash Tree Sap extract and more as well as being free of parabens and colouring. As I have sensitive skin, this sounds like a product up my street and just in time as my skin is in need of some nourishment after the cold weather.

Nip + Fab
Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Mango Smoothie
I'm a big fan of body butters, not only for their effects but for their scents too. I'm pleased to have received this particular scent as it's very Spring/Summer appropriate so am looking forward to seeing how it stands up against my current body butters.

Essie
Nail Lacquer in 'Sugar Daddy'
Essie has been such a popular nail product over this past year and I have to admit that I've been drawn into their gorgeous range of colours and sleek packaging. I'm pleased to have received a neutral pink shade in my box as I'm not big on bright colours on my nails as they require a lot more maintenance than I'm quite frankly willing to put in. When it comes to quality, I've not been completely won over by the long lasting aspect of the polish so I'm hoping this will convince me otherwise.

Balance Me
Radiance Face Mask
I love a face mask so this product will definitely become a 'go-to product' for me this month. With 98% natural origins and being a triple action product, I have high hopes for this overhauling my tired skin!
