Wannabe Ballerina

Top: Primark, Dress: H&M
I remember as a child getting a video for my birthday/Christmas on 'How to be a ballerina.' I'm not even sure why I found this video so fascinating but the one thing that stuck out to me was the tutus - I guess it was my only legitimate way of becoming something close to a Disney princess. I took a few classes but the cold hall of the ballet class soon wore me down, and off I went into ballroom dancing (the room was a lot warmer there).

Whilst I'm not stereo-typically 'girly' in that pink is a colour I hate, nine times out of ten I can't be bothered to paint my nails and I actually don't enjoy going to the hairdressers - I do love a fabulously feminine dress. And this tutu netted one from H&M ticks all of the boxes for me. It makes me feel glam, it's black (which is always a winner for me), plus it gives me this weird urge to twirl.
I threw on a high neck top to transform the dress into a tutu inspired skirt. I've literally lived in high neck tops from last Christmas until now - talk about an investment piece. I doubt they'll be disappearing from my wardrobe anytime soon, but you never know - what with the new season pieces dropping.

This season I'll be stocking up on collared dresses and thick jumpers whilst trying my best to inject a bit of the rebel trend into my style. I never really aim to look like a trend, however it just so happens that two of the trends this season are themes that I regularly inject into my wardrobe. Well, you know what they say - if you can't beat them - join them!
