Review: No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum

no7blog3 no7blog4 no7blog1 No7 as a brand has been a firm fixture in my family. I've grown up with my mum religiously using their skincare and then as a teenager I would stock up on their nail polish shades (I remember my all time favourite being one called 'Lucky Lilac.' They're my go-to brand for face powder so when I was sent the Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum I had high hopes.

The advanced serum is aimed at the first signs of ageing that women start to experience 25+. Whilst I'm just shy of being 25, I'm always on the lookout for products that can prevent ageing and help me to look and feel my best. I'm quite conscious of my under eye circles and fine lines I've developed - I blame not enough sleep and too much laughter but the second one I don't feel too guilty about!

The serum is a rich and thick cream meaning a little really does go a long way. It has a slight fragrance but nothing too over-powering. I cover all of my face with it and work it into my skin gently - focusing on my 'problem areas' as I like to call them - also known as my bags. I also spread it down to my neck before letting it settle in. Within five minutes the serum fully sinks in and it's at this point that you really start to feel its benefits. Given how rich the formula is, you could expect it to feel heavy on your skin and perhaps a little greasy but it actually has the opposite effect. My skin feels like velvet and as if my skin has been evened out, both by appearance and to the touch. Because of how well it works into the skin, it would make a great base for make-up and particularly in summer, it would be great for re-hydrating skin.

As for ageing, my lines do look much less visible and my skin feels a lot softer and a lot less 'angry' as I like to call it. My bags are still there, but until I curb my late nights and early starts, I don't think any product could provide a fix!

No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum - £23.95 (30ml) at Boots*
