|It's no secret I love hotels. I also love London so when I got to go down to the Big Smoke in August to stay in Motel One's capital based pad, I was pretty excited. Now there are 100s of London hotels to choose from, so why Motel One? The hotel is located in between Aldgate and Tower Hill tubes making it ideal for city centre exploring. It's a 5 minute walk to The Thames should you fancy a leisurely stroll after breakfast. And if you simply look up you're surrounded by iconic landmarks. Spot The Gherkin, The Shard and the Tower of London to name a few.
The Motel One is vastly growing across Europe (one has just opened in Manchester!) and is lushly decorated with chandeliers, chic furnishings and modern art covering the walls - and that's just the reception.
|The rooms for me are the stand-out point. They're everything you need for a modern stay in the capital city. I stayed at the top floor - if you have a fear of heights, maybe ask for a lower floor. But for me, I loved it. It has immediate wow factor when you walk through the door as you're hit (not literally) with floor to ceiling views of the city skyline as far as the eye can see. The breathtaking view is even better come night-time when the city's lights dazzle you.
In terms of facilities you've got your standard HD TV, tea making facilities, wi-fi and desk. The bed was absolutely dreamy with enough pillows to quench my pillow desire (I love a lot of pillows okay...) and after a long day pounding the London streets you've got a luxury rainfall show to step into.
And the morning after you've got a buffet breakfast to tuck into feeling upbeat and refreshed. So if you're after luxury that doesn't break the bank, check out Motel One.
