Half of the time I’m working on my blog I’m travelling somewhere but when I’m working from home, I like to have my blog essentials around me to stay organised and on track. So today I’m sharing with you my go-to pieces, the bits and bobs that help me blog that little bit better.
As with any writer, I don’t know what I’d do without my laptop so it’s my number one essential. It’s a Macbook Air which at first I did think twice about compared to the Macbook Pro but with the amount of time I spend away from my flat, I wanted something lightweight and fast to encourage me to carry it around as much as possible. If you’re similar and work away from the home a lot, it’s a model I definitely recommend. It also looks pretty damn good too.
My other essential. I use my phone for a lot of blogging - whether that’s Instagramming, Tweeting, answering emails, doing research on the go and snapping imagery for posts. I’ve written a post on my favourite Instagram apps here and in terms of blogging, Flickr is my go-to for syncing photos.
The backbone of my blog, it’s a great tool to plan ahead what content I want to produce and to see on a week by week, and a month by month basis how I’m going to fit it all in around the rest of my life.
I keep a lot of notebooks around for anything I want to jot down. These are great to carry around on days when I don’t take my Macbook around with me.
My Memo Notes
For anything short and sweet I jot those down on a memo note as a reminder to myself. I’m a huge Kate Spade fan and love anything pretty like these and they add a little bit of colour to my white and grey toned life! They’re from luxury website Amara.com and are so chic and cute, part of me doesn’t like to use them but I’m definitely going to. Amara is a new brand that I’ve discovered and I love them - they sell everything you could think of from gorgeous gifts to unique home pieces and sassy stationery like the Kate Spade pads - if you’ve not heard about them before, check them out.
A Drink (Of Some Sort)
For any long-term blogging-at-the-desk situations, a decent drink is always on the menu. I love anything with initials on - this mug and coaster set is from Marks and Spencer - who doesn’t love them?!
