Resolutions, it's been a while! Hands up if you're making them? Even if you think they're a little naff, I've got news for you, it doesn't have to be the same old 'new year, new me' spiel. Sometimes the best resolutions are the simplest and require less of a gym membership and more of a PMA. Here's 10 resolutions to make RN...
Do something everyday that scares you
Nothing good comes from staying in your comfort zone. Sure it may be safe, but what's a safe life? Take a risk and push your boundaries. You'll reap the benefits and feel like the ultimate girl boss *insert sassy hand girl emoji here*
Sign up to something new
Want to learn a new language? Or been meaning to pick up where you left off when you used to dance? Now's the time to do it. Sign up and stick to it!
Switch off from social media
It's addictive, I get it. I'm guilty as charged, but every now and then step away from the phone, put the laptop down and have some quality offline time. Take a walk, binge watch a boxset or just people watch. The social world can wait for a while...
Get more sleep
Funny how when we were kids we hated going to bed but now we love it. So cut back on the crazy late nights and swap 'em for some quality time in bed. Buy yourself some super luxe pillows and a duvet so inviting you'll never wanna leave, until you have to go to work, obvs.
Okay, okay, so I know I said that this wasn't about going to the gym, but, keeping fit is essential to looking after yourself. I'm not saying go sign up to do half a marathon (but props to you if you do), but baby steps. Try a brisk jog once a week or join a dance class to get your heart pumping. You only get one body, so look after it yeah?
Travel's the only thing you buy that makes you richer. It doesn't have to be as big as a year travelling the world - how about a city break with the boyf, a week away somewhere exotic with the girls or a beach getaway? Book the ticket, immerse yourself in a new culture and make memories you'll never forget.
Be grateful for everything
Thanksgiving comes once a year and whilst it's an American tradition, we should frequently take a leaf out of their book. Be grateful for every damn thing in your life. Be polite, be kind and most of all be thankful, and I'm talking about the little things. Like him loving you when you've been a bit of a cow, your best friends putting up with your drunken antics and your mum making your fave meal when you're at home. Your life will change, trust me.
Spend more time with the ones you love
Life's both the shortest and longest thing you'll do. And you'll never get this time back, so spend it wisely with the people you love. The ones who bring you sunshine, happiness and a whole lotta fun.
Say yes to everything
Within reason obviously. New hobby, holiday, career, night out - you name it, try putting yourself out there.
And finally, to be happy
It's as simple as that. Strive to be happy. Surround yourself with sunshine souls and cut out the bad people and negative things in your life. Do what makes you happy, sometimes you've got to be selfish, providing you're not hurting anyone - go with your heart and think about number one - YOU.
